SUMMARY:WHY IT MATTERS: NEUROPSYCHOANALYSIS
DESCRIPTION:Hybrid Conference \nWHY IT MATTERS: NEUROPSYCHOANALYSIS\n“How we really bring about change” with Dr. Mark Solms \nSaturday\, April 5\, 2025\, 9:00am – 3:00pm \nHybrid Conference on Zoom and In Person in Livingston\, NJ \n6 CE Credits \nPatricia Bratt\, PhD\, Moderator \nCo-sponsored by NAAP and BGSP-NJ \n\n\nKeynote Speaker: Mark Solms\, MD\nImplications for Clinical Practice of Recent Neuropsychoanalytic Findings \n“Recent advances in brain science suggests that Freud’s ‘Id’ is not unconscious\, that there are not two emotional ‘drives’ but rather seven\, that ‘repressed’ memories can never be brought back to consciousness\, etc. These findings must obviously have major practical implications for our clinical work. What we do as psychoanalytic therapists clearly helps\, but it cannot help in the ways that we previously thought it did. In this talk\, Mark Solms will explain how we really bring about change.
