By developing greater understanding of the impact of diverse backgrounds\, varying life stages\, or issues from difficult emotional challenges and their interaction with the therapist’s own history\, tools for developing a therapeutic alliance are developed. \nThe recognition of dynamics\, early resistances\, transference and countertransference factors will be addressed establishing a framework for studying the therapeutic alliance. \n\nThe One-Year Program @ ACAP \nOur program consists of four courses over one year. It provides an opportunity for mental health practitioners and professionals in various disciplines to enhance clinical skills\, introducing innovative\, Modern Psychoanalytic principles\, theories\, and techniques. \nParticipants will discover effective strategies for designing interventions that can reverse maladaptive emotional and behavioral patterns. Through hands-on learning\, they will quickly build practical clinical skills that make a lasting difference in their work with clients—fostering collaboration\, self-definition\, and meaningful growth. \nACAP’s unique methods for navigating challenging clinical situations can be the key to transforming burnout into renewed professional satisfaction. These approaches are grounded in the foundational concepts of Modern Psychoanalysis\, offering both depth and practical application. \nFull information about the four courses at \n\nParticipants will be able to: \nDEVELOP: an understanding of the unique way a psychoanalytic psychotherapist understands diagnosis\, treatment\, and the therapeutic relationship. \nIDENTIFY: a spectrum of psychoanalytic case conceptualization for various diagnoses. \nDESIGN: strategies to intervene therapeutically according to the unique dynamics of the case. \nUNDERSTAND: the impact of existing transference and resistance issues when designing verbal intervention strategies. \n\nJudy Lapides\, is a National and New Jersey State Certified psychoanalyst. She received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis-NJ\, and she holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. \nPrior to becoming a psychoanalyst\, Ms. Lapides spent a number of years teaching and working with adolescents. She has a clinical practice in Morristown\, NJ\, where she treats adults and adolescents.
