DESCRIPTION:One Year Program – Part III* – 6 Weeks \nBegins Monday\, January 26\, 2026 \n10 CEs  \nInstructor: Judy Lapides\, MACMHC\, NCPsyA\, NJSCPsyA \nDates: 1/26/26\, 2/2\, 2/9\, 2/23\, 3/2\, 3/9 \nMonday evenings 6:00PM (ET) – 7:30PM (ET) \nvia Zoom \n*One Year Program courses may be taken in any order. \n\n  \nThe course prepares clinicians to work psychodynamically\, at a new depth\, with a wide range of presenting symptoms and offers perspectives from other mental health disciplines. \nThe recognition of constitutional tendencies\, early attachment issues\, psychological resistances\, transference and countertransference issues will be addressed in terms of origins of conditions and impact on the treatment alliance. \n  \nThis course meets on six dates. Each week different clinical diagnostic categories are discussed\, such as: \n\nAddictions\nObsessive-Compulsive Disorder\nIntermittent Explosive Disorder and other disorders of impulse and compulsion will be explored.\n\n\n\nThe One-Year Program\nThe program consists of four courses over one year. It provides an opportunity for mental health practitioners and professionals in various disciplines to enhance clinical skills\, introducing innovative\, Modern Psychoanalytic principles\, theories\, and techniques. \n\nParticipants will discover effective strategies for designing interventions that can reverse maladaptive emotional and behavioral patterns. Through hands-on learning\, they will quickly build practical clinical skills that make a lasting difference in their work with clients—fostering collaboration\, self-definition\, and meaningful growth. \nACAP’s unique methods for navigating challenging clinical situations can be the key to transforming burnout into renewed professional satisfaction. These approaches are grounded in the foundational concepts of Modern Psychoanalysis\, offering both depth and practical application. \nFull information about the four courses at \nhttps://acapnj.org/one-year-program-modern-psychoanalytic-studies/ \n\nParticipants will be able to: \nIdentify the clinical diagnostic criteria for addictions\, obsessive-compulsive disorders and impulse disorders. \n  \nDevelop tools for working effectively with individuals presenting impulse and obsessive disorders. \n  \nRecognize the dynamics\, early resistances\, and transference and countertransference issues necessary to facilitate a working alliance with individuals presenting impulse and obsessive disorders. \n\nJudy Lapides\, MACMHC\, NCPsyA\, NJSCPsyA\nJudy Lapides\, is a National and New Jersey State Certified psychoanalyst. She received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis-NJ\, and she holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. \nPrior to becoming a psychoanalyst\, Ms. Lapides spent a number of years teaching and working with adolescents. She has a clinical practice in Morristown\, NJ\, where she treats adults and adolescents. Ms Lapides is presently on the faculty of ACAP and BGSP-NJ
