GPSA 825 Gender and Identity

This course will examine the biological, neurological, social, cultural and intrapsychic relationship of gender roles, sexual orientation and gender identity. Gender is explored in the context of self, family, and cultural institutions such as schools, religious institutions, the legal system, and the health care system. It will present related models of theory and practice within psychoanalysis and counseling. Normal and pathological developmental lines are considered. (elective all programs – 3cr)
