GPSA833b Adolescent Treatment: Theory and Practice (3 credits) This course will introduce the student to basic theoretical concepts and practices in adolescent treatment. From mother and infant intervention to the emergence of adolescence, case studies will demonstrate the developmental patterns, treatment challenges and modifications in treatment. The student will learn about the historical roots of approaches to contemporary practices. Case examples from practice examine common symptom patterns and evidence of trauma, pathology and resilience within child treatments.
