Admissions
Dear Prospective Student,
You will find answers to many of your questions about ACAP’s programs in the admissions pages on our website. There are several options students may choose when considering ACAP, depending on personal and professional goals. We welcome your calls and always encourage personal consultations with our admissions staff. They are available to guide you through the admission and course selection process, helping you decide which route best serves your needs.
Our regular open house and information sessions can help clarify your questions about ACAP’s programs and also introduce you to some of our students and graduates. From them you can learn about the unique community that is ACAP, the rich diversity of professional backgrounds our students bring to courses, and the ways psychoanalytic studies have influenced their personal and professional lives.
You are always invited to attend any of the seminars, conferences, and continuing education events ACAP offers, to learn more about our experiential teaching method and the many ways our training is applied in the community as well as the therapeutic setting.
We welcome your questions and participation in upcoming events. Come learn what it is like to be part of the ACAP community.

International Applicants Academic Documentation
The structure of higher education varies by country. Because of this, we ask that applicants educated outside of the United States include a credential equivalency report as part of their application for admission. To do this, you will need to submit your undergraduate and graduate transcripts to a credential equivalency service such as:
Center for Education documentation www.cedevaluations.com
Educational Credential Evaluators www.ece.org
World Education Services www.wes.org
It is common that these companies will request official transcripts in order to complete the credential equivalency evaluation. Because of this, we recommend that you request two copies of your official transcript(s) when preparing for your application.
These companies offer different levels of reporting. If you are not requesting transfer credit for prior graduate work completed outside the United States, you will only need a general or basic report confirming your overall credential. If you plan to request transfer equivalency for a graduate level course completed outside the United States, it will be helpful to request a course-by-course equivalency report that also includes the overall credential evaluation.
