The One Year Program consists of four courses over one year. Each course meets for six sessions. It allows mental health practitioners and professionals in various disciplines to enhance clinical skills while introducing innovative, Modern Psychoanalytic principles, theories, and techniques.

The course meets on six dates and prepares mental health professionals to work psychodynamically with respect, awareness, and techniques that bridge the gap between clinicians and clients who are from diverse backgrounds or stages of life.
The recognition of dynamics, early resistances, and transference and countertransference issues will be addressed to establish a working alliance with the client.
Participants will be able to:
- DEVELOP: an understanding of the unique way a psychoanalytic psychotherapist understands diagnosis, treatment, and the therapeutic relationship.
- IDENTIFY: a spectrum of psychoanalytic case conceptualization for various diagnoses.
- DESIGN: strategies to intervene therapeutically according to the unique dynamics of the case.
- UNDERSTAND: the impact of existing transference and resistance issues when designing verbal intervention strategies.
Judy Lapides, NCPsyA, NJSCPsyA,
is a National and New Jersey State Certified Psychoanalyst. She received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis-NJ, and she holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. Prior to becoming a psychoanalyst, Ms. Lapides spent a number of years teaching and working with adolescents. She has a clinical practice in Morristown, NJ, where she treats adukts and adolescents. Ms. Lapides is currently on the faculty of ACAP and BGSP-NJ.
