Understanding Opioids and Opioid Addiction

This presentation will provide an overview of the opioid class of drugs. The impact of opioid use as a current epidemic is described. Use of the DSM V to identify criteria for diagnosis will be reviewed when considering cases in which opioid use is present and treatment options presented. The effects of marijuana and its impact on everyday functioning are presented.
