Brown Bag Lunch Series
July 24, 2024 12:00 – 1:00 pm
On Zoom – 1 CE
Working collaboratively with parents is indispensable in the treatment of children and young adults. When parents are actively engaged and feel supported, they can become powerful allies in the therapeutic process. This workshop aims to outline best practices for cultivating strong therapist-parent relationships, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of psychotherapeutic interventions with children and adolescents. Through case examples drawn from typical practice scenarios, participants will gain practical insights into applying these strategies in real-world situations. By fostering a cohesive therapeutic alliance between therapists, children, and their parents, we can optimize outcomes and foster positive growth and development.
Course Objectives – Participants will learn to:
1- Identify common conflicts facing parents
2- Cultivate interventions to address common conflicts experienced by parents
3- Describe case examples that demonstrate the application of the intervention strategies
