The Influence of Culture in Clinical Supervision, 3 hours
The course will address the influence of culture on supervisory roles and functions within a comparative framework using mental health models including: counseling, social work and psychoanalytic approaches. The course will begin defining the supervisory process and move into the cultural dimensions that impact the supervisee-supervisor relationship and process. Topics will address the historical, practical, ethical, and cultural aspects of supervisory work. The course format is lecture, case review, reading and experiential small group activities.
